Mediation Services
Mediation, as an alternative to or in the aftermath of a formal investigation, can help to minimize if not eliminate many of the problems encountered in more traditional methods of resolution. In many situations, for example, when the conduct was perceived differently by the parties, when intent was misconstrued, when the behavior was subtle and isolated, or when there has been genuine miscommunication, mediation can provide a creative option for effective resolution.
Brinkman & Chersky Consulting's mediators are experienced, credible, and attentive to the critical need for confidentiality that underlies the success of the mediation process. To determine if mediation is the appropriate intervention for the situation, we conduct a thorough appraisal with the parties, carefully assessing the complainant's ability to participate without fear of reprisal.
A Brinkman & Chersky Consulting mediator will meet with the parties separately to define the procedure and desired outcome before facilitating the mediation. In some instances, for example, when the conflict exists between a female and male employee, co-mediators will be used. The primary goal of the process is to define the parameters of a respectful work relationship in order to proceed into the future, thereby negotiating a mutually satisfying remedy to the conflict.
